I have always had this desire to build stuff… go figure. And recently I decided to tackle a little project, inspired by plans from Ana-White. If you aren’t familiar with her blog/website, she offers a TON of easy to follow plans for building all sorts of things. She is also in the process of self-building a mom-plex with her hubby (housing for their moms) so, pretty inspirational and right up my alley for interesting reading!
I decided to modify the plans for the Triple Pedestal Farm House Bench. This is what our current table looks like {not in our current house}:
And here is a photo of the Bench:

I wanted something that could slide in between the legs of the table, for storage and that the boys can pull up to the table. The length of my bench is 47″, and only has 2 pedestals. Here is a shot of the base:
I need to get a jig for pocket holes for my top… but then we are good to go! The great thing is, this bench is constructed out of 2×4’s and 2×6’s, which we had left over from our addition. I also used stain left over from the front deck update. So, essentially, apart from the jig… it will be free! I don’t really factor the cost of tools, because they are something we will use over and over again…
Looking forward to sharing the finished product! Have you ever built any furniture? How did it turn out?
