The end of May and a big sigh of relief!

Sometimes I dearly miss blogging, taking snap shots… and all that jazz… but the reality is, when you are working over time on so many projects, there is little energy left to blog about them! May was a bit of a crazy month… with 3 birthdays (including the big 3-0 for Matt) our 7 year anniversary, out of town family visits, and 8 recitals for me, it’s amazing our heads aren’t spinning down main street. Wa-La! We built a deck, worked on the bathroom, and tackled some house wrap… which was interesting!  Now June is here, and I finally feel like I can take a deep breath!

We have had amazing weather… I can almost forget about winter… the season that had 6 months of snow on the ground… almost.

To be honest, this past winter felt long and hard, and both Matt and I were pretty ready for spring. We feel so blessed to be out at the lake- hearing the birds, and especially the loons, makes me feel like I am on vacation! Such a gift.

I can officially say that doors and windows are a wrap on the addition! Would anyone {if anyone is out there?!} be interested on a little run down of how we used stock windows from the “Big Box Store” and customized them for an authentic cottage look? Let me know… and I will take a few shots, and do a quick run through.

I also don’t think I have ever done a “progress” home tour of our place… a few things have changed! I think it is time for me to get over my “wait, we are in a construction zone!” anxiety, and show you a bit of what has been going on! We have been in our house for 1 year, and A LOT has changed… at least I like to think so! So I will add that to my blogging to do list 🙂

If you follow me on Instagram, my alternative to blogging… ahem… then you will be familiar with some of our projects! We officially have a rearranged bathroom, complete with a sink… I still have a bit of work to do on the vanity, and built ins to add for storage, and lots of “down the road” things…but just getting to this step feels like a huge relief!

When my mom came to visit we picked up a few things for the bathroom… 4 new towels from the Target Threshold line, bath mats from Winners, and a toilet paper holder… luxurious I know! Target recently came to Canada, and I have to say that I was excited. I am not a huge shopper… especially not of new things, but, Target has some cute stuff, and their Threshold line has many things that are right up my cottage-style alley!

Hope ya’ll are havin a bright sun shiney day!
