Well hi February. How on earth did that happen? Last night I had a dream, I went outside and all of the snow had melted and there were little signs of spring at my feet. Sounds about right, because I can’t believe it’s already February! January went by in a blink. With going back to teaching Ballet, kids in skiing, gymnastics and a slew of other school things, we just zoomed through last month. The good news is, we managed to keep really consistent with school. yay! That had become a struggle fro us coming into December, probably due to the fact that Matt had been away, and we were facing a mid year hump. My little 7 year old is starting to get a little caught up in “I don’t really like writing” but that kid would have a book in front of his face pretty much all day if I let him. So, we are working on ways to make writing a little more fun, and a little less mandatory.
I said to Matt the other day, I feel like I am standing around each of my kids, trying to crack their code. Whether it’s working with E to find a love of writing (he is such a verbal story teller!) or to find my way into the day dreaming, imaginative brain of my 5 year old, or teach the 1 year old how to not scream at/for everything (she shrieks when she’s happy too!). Mothering sure does push the problem solving/creative reasoning skills out of ya.
Anyhoo, last year I shared a few of the highlights of each month as according to stats, and then it sort of fizzled out by the end of the year- so I thought I would give that a try again 🙂
