Hello sweet friends. I have missed you! I hope you’ve missed me too. As it turns out, I didn’t intend on not posting here on my blog for nearly 2 months, but planting, seeding, finishing school, and wedding work just kind of took over and tada! Here we are!
The fields are pretty much planted, and now we wait for things to grow and bloom! Bouquet subscriptions for the little flower company I started with a friend last summer (Meadow Farm Florals) start mid-July… and then we will be in the mode of weekly harvesting, and bouquet making. Above is a snap of our fields in early June- mid plant! We’ve also booked 11 weddings this summer- so there is some work ahead of us! 2 down, and they both went beautifully.
I am so excited about some of the new to me plants I am growing this year. It is such a different rhythm not having a newborn… I can’t believe all that I did last summer while having a new (fourth) baby. Oh goodness!! But I now have some creative energy for trialing new things, like anemone and ranunculus. If you are curious about my flower farm- you can find us sharing over on instagram @meadowfarmflorals
Matt and I also took a big huge break from house stuff! We’ve got the majority of all the big projects behind us, but we still have things to finish- like paint and trim, and nailing things in place… putting pot lights in the dining room and painting the ceiling. Theres actually a decent sized list, but when I see all that we’ve done it seems pretty small in comparison.
As with many people I think- when the weather turns nice, focus turns to outside projects. While we haven’t gotten the fence up we have gotten the trim finished on our windows. We replaced them in the winter- because we had the gusto to do it- but they sat with yellow foam showing for a while! Well- no more… they’re trimmed and ready for caulking and a final layer of stain.
I can’t tell you how nice it is to have efficient windows- that ALL open, and are just clean and lovely. I’ll be sharing more about this project with you guys down the road.
I’ll leave this here for now. I hope you are having a lovely summer so far- I’d love to hear more about what you are up to! Our theme so far has been “baseball” haha. Our boys love it- and our oldest plays until the beginning of August. But it’s actually a lot of fun at this stage- and I love getting to support my kids just like our parents did for us!
