It seems I am most consistent with sharing living room updates in the fall and at Christmas, which is quite alright with me. I love decorating our fall mantel, and this year I went with subtle neutrals mixed with grey and greens. I have had these beige crocs sitting on the mantel most of the summer, and I am loving the fresh green plants in here.
I’ve found the easiest way for me to keep plants alive in my house is to have them in one room that we use all the time- so that I don’t forget about them! ha. So, it’s feeling a bit tropical in here lately, but most of my plants are thriving- so that is a good thing.
I actually bought some of the plants for a living wall project at Maker House, but we didn’t get around to it right away, so I am keeping them at home so that they don’t die! I’ve also added a few air plants into our collection which has been a new experience as well. I enjoyed nestling them into the moss and pine cones.
You may recall that I had a hard time keeping succulents… well my friends, the tides are a changing! This is a cutting- and it is happily growing new roots. I realized that mine just weren’t getting enough sun, and this summer they grew like mad on a sunny window sill. I think I may even need to repot a few…
Things are simple and quiet on our fall mantel this year. I added that straw hat for a little texture, and the shape works well for me in placement of a wreath. You know I love my sun hats!
I don’t think I’ll be getting pumpkins for the mantel this year- but who knows. I could see a few mini white or green pumpkins nestled amongst the moss… and if that happens I’ll be sure to let you know.
