I took an unintentional break from blogging over the last few weeks. Matt and I have been doing our best to rest, and spend some quality time with our kiddos this summer, so I guess technology was due to take a bit of a back seat. Which is quite alright with me every once an a while. 😉 My mama recently came for a visit and we spent a glorious Saturday morning visiting thrift shops before enjoying a lovely lunch out. It has been a long time since I have gone out for a leisurely morning without any little people in tow- my was it refreshing!
I thought I would share some of my farmhouse finds with you all- I am pretty excited about them.
I often set a dollar limit on small items as a bit of a game- and this time it was $5. Of course I make exceptions on really special pieces- one of which was this marble mortar and pestel ($7) it is such a beauty. I loved the patina and unique shape of the shoe stretcher ($5) and thought it would be fun to have on display. I have already painted the tray ($1) gray- it was originally a dark stain.
Let’s talk about my favorite of the farmhouse finds- this amazing woven table cloth/throw/love of my life. ($2) I mean, when I saw this I was just giddy- the texture is delicious, and the pattern is so lovely It is quite large, and I am sure you’ll be seeing it pop up around our home. Don’t you love it when you find little treasures like that?
In case you don’t know this about me, I have a weakness for textiles.
I also apparently love marble- this sweet little cloche ($5) had me at first glance. I also thought this little mug holder was adorable, and couldn’t pass it up for $1.
This wooden bowl ($1) is so warm and delightful.
For a grand total of $22- I’d say that was a very productive trip! What have you been up to, to soak up the last of summer? (I can’t believe I’m saying that!!)
