I have a friend who always bakes delicious treats. Nutella cheesecake, white zucchini cake with fresh blueberries and cream… fudge brownies with the perfect chocolate icing. Seriously- she has a gift! While this recipe is not tummy trouble approved for me right now- I thought you might enjoy this ever so simple- delicious every time- recipe!
That Last Chocolate Icing You’ll Ever Make
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter softened
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp hot water
Instructions
Put ingredients in a bowl, blend it all together and try not to lick the beaters.
I paired the icing with a chocolate zucchini cake- and it was delicious if I do say so myself. Rich, but delicious. {we made this a few months ago with zucchinis from our garden} If you are like me, you might ask the question “But there is a raw egg in this icing….” Which isn’t really a question. It’s a statement. We had this a few times before ever knowing about the egg, and we loved and lived! So that’s my 2 cents.

We have been enjoying some really beautiful fall days this month, and just celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada. While it wasn’t filled with all of our usual traditions, it was filled with some much needed rest. We spent Saturday and Monday at home, all 5 of us- and to be honest I can’t remember the last time that happened. I think its been a good 2-3 months at least. I am feeling refreshed and enjoying my fam that much more.
Sometimes I need a little down time, with my husby around. You know? No house projects, no outings, not running to the hardware store… just being. Now I feel ready to return to the great purge of 2015. I have brought up bins from the crawl space- and I don’t know what I was thinking! Just kidding… but I do get purge ADD. Basically because I just want to go through everything. The house is in a bit of upheaval right now {by bit I mean, I apologize to everyone who enters}
What is your method for sorting, and widdling down? I keep telling myself to just focus on one room, or one persons stuff/clothes… but I still get distracted. Any advice would be much appreciated! I haven’t even begun to organize tools, paint cans and wood scraps- which are in abundance around here!
