The French Triplets {Thrifted Finds}

I have to admit I’m really excited to hone my new found upholstery skills. It is so rewarding and fun! It’s kind of like mowing a lawn… you know, it starts out looking like a jungle, but after you are finished it’s so neat and tidy and manicured. Little risk. Big reward. So, I’m trying to decide what I will do to these beauties once I am finished with our siding. #priorities

thrifted french chair-1When I spotted 3 of these lovelies on kijiji for $20 each there was only one thing between me and those chairs. About 2 hours of driving. These are the chairs my bro-in-law picked up for me {he lives a few minutes away from where they were located} I then proceeded to cram them into my van with 3 other chairs and my 3 children. I may have a chair problem. I fully admit it, and I don’t have a problem with it. The key is just actually doing the makeover. Since I won’t be able to justify starting another project when the exterior {and parts of the interior} of our house looks like Frankenstein… these chairs will have to wait. Overall they are in pretty good shape, but just not me. Right now they remind me of hotel furniture.

Here are a few chairs I absolutely love and have pinned to my Chair Love board…

The stain on my chairs is very cherry- so I am going to try to either strip them, or give them a new finish with paint. I am not sure what I will do yet in terms of upholstery, but I love the little surprise of pattern on the back panel of MMS’s chairs. I also love the clean look of a solid neutral fabric as well! It is fun to look at the different finish combinations via Restoration Hardware- because they have so many fabric options with multiple wood finishes. The key is to find a way to recreate the look 😉

Things have been much quieter on here then I would like. I have continued to struggle with major stomach issues. It is exhausting and discouraging. I have had some testing done- with the only potential lead at this point being gall stones or a stomach ulcer. At this point I feel best about a diet overhaul- although my diet is pretty good- and implementing strategies from GAPS. I am really praying this brings some serious relief and long term healing.

Thanks for your encouragement and prayers. The last year and a half has been a journey- and it has definitely given me just a small glimpse of what so many live with when facing an unpredictable health condition. It truly is such a gift to have your health.
