Well the Kitchen Cabinets are all painted, using Fusion Mineral Paint’s color Soapstone. It’s not the first time I have used their paint on cabinets (check out our beverage bar here) and it’s probably still one of my favorite products for painting as it requires so little prep. The coverage is awesome. (not sponsored by the way!)
It leans much more blue/grey than I expected, but I am liking it. It’s pulling in some of the cooler stones on the wall. And I have to say, it feels much cleaner in here (aside from the crumbs on my floor… sorry guys I tried)
I need to seal the doors/knobs, as some of the paint rubbed off around the knobs already… but I’ll touch them up and then use the Fusion tough coat product.
I grabbed some inexpensive tension rods for the open cabinet base we built, and put some scrap fabric up just to see how it might work with a cabinet skirt- and it’s most definitely a win in my book! Much better than looking at the clutter!
So I will be shopping for some fabric. I bought a tension rod for the side but it was too long, so I’ll have to see if I can find a smaller one. I also tucked some fabric over the dishwasher just to visualize what that might look like too…
I think some ruffles or pleats are in order, but I do definitely prefer having that dishwasher hidden. Now to make it cute and functional! It’s a portable dishwasher, meaning it has to be moved over to the sink which is why it’s in a peculiar spot. Remember that I told you this kitchen is quirky?!
I’m really pleased with the outcome. It took me an afternoon to paint these old tired cabinets, and now it feels much cleaner in here already.
Now to complete the skirting!

Great transformation with the paint and it looks so good with the beautiful stone in the kitchen… The island with the skirt is just brilliant, it looks so clean and fresh and all the storage is now hidden, and what a added bonus having all that countertop space… fabulous work mizzzz Ash ✨✨✨
