Open Cabinet Transformation

I’ve had fun refreshing the kitchen! It feels like a completely new space in a lot of ways, and I feel like I am seeing it through fresh eyes. Also just having the time to clean up the clutter makes a huge difference! {I wish my counter tops were always this clean, but lets not kid ourselves! That space is where the aptly called “dish line up” lives}

We’ve had this little cabinet kicking around for a while, and I decided it was due for a makeover…

cabinet beforeI brushed a little Simply White on it {since thats what I had!} and Ta da!

It is tucked on the wall next to the fridge, nestled under the Sweet Tea Sign.

white open shelfI made the “Sweet Tea” sign a while back out of some palette wood. It’s a nod to my Texas days…what is the south without Sweet Tea? I put a collection of white {spray painted} mason jars and our tea cups from Seoul, S Korea. Sometimes that feels like a different life… Matt and I travelling the world, just the two of us! Life is so very different now, but so wonderful and full! Full of wonder… and sleepless nights! lol. Oh dear. So little sleep these days. {tangent}

The towel bar is perfect for hanging up kitchen gadgets or swapping out tea towels. Do you have decorative tea towels in your house? Like… that you don’t use other then to have them cutely hanging? Because I have several! And I’m always on the lookout for more. I have a weakness for textiles… blankets, pillows, fabric and tea towels.

I’m excited to say that I may have convinced my husband to do a little re-arranging in the kitchen…. eeep. So, I will be sure to share an update on that when I can. He also suggested we could build an island and even said “I wonder if we could make our own butcher block?” I would like to go on record to say that it’s not just me! 😉 Right Matts?

The island won’t be happening anytime soon, but in the mean time it’s always fun to surf pinterest for inspiration. 😉

Happy Monday ya’ll!
