Merry Christmas

Hi friends. I wanted to take a moment to say that I am thinking of you this holiday season. It has looked different for many of us. For many people the holidays are hard enough as it is- without all the difficult lockdowns and bans on family gatherings. I think this year, more than ever, we were looking forward to being together with friends and family! My heart is with you. Despite it feeling a little bittersweet, I am so thankful for this season. A reminder to turn our eyes to Jesus, and receive God’s gift of reconciliation, forgiveness and hope.

I shared recently on my instagram about the gift of true hope. It is not something we can muster on our own. It comes from our heavenly Father, and is found in the gift of Jesus Christ. We remember his birth because it transformed the world. The gift of hope, a light in the darkness. It is a reminder I needed, and must constantly cling to, now more than ever.

There are many times in my own life when I have felt God’s inexplainable peace and protection, in times where it just didn’t make sense. This year has been so difficult to say the least, but I have felt my burdens begin to lift as I turn my heart towards God. His yoke is easy, and his burden is light.

We had a lovely meal and celebration, and cleaned out our barn for a candlelight Christmas Eve Service, as in person church services have been banned for over a month here in BC. I can’t fathom even writing those words, yet here we are. We will lift our voices and sing God’s praise. We will shout of his goodness, and dwell in his presence.

I am so thankful for our kids who have a way of helping us focus on what truly matters, and finding joy in every circumstance! It was a very sweet and Merry Christmas!

I wanted to take a moment to just say thank you for being here. God Bless you. I know this year has not been easy, but keep holding onto hope, and share it with those you love.
