Hanging by the thread of my pinny pin…. pinterest?

I had a great feature lined up for you all today, but alas, a few things did not come through, so I will have to keep you on the edge of your seat 😉

Today I am going to talk a little bit about Pinterest. Many of you might already be using it, I know I heard a lot about it, and didn’t really understand the point of it. It sounded like a bit of a time sucker… but, I eventually signed up. And, let me tell you- it is quite the useful tool!

The way that Pinterest works is this: You create “Boards” each with a theme/Category. They could be related to decorating, fashion, food, art, you name it. There are not really limits when it comes to how you use Pinterest. You then add the “Pin It” button to your tool bar, and when you come across something you like related to a category- you click “pin it” and sort it into the corresponding board.

There is also the world within the world of pinterest, which consists of following boards, liking and repinning pins… And this is where I find it to get a little more time consuming. But, very useful so you do not have to “scour” the web for something.

I mostly use pinterest for home decor ideas. For example, here is my “Boys Room” Board.

I also find Pinterest very useful for cataloguing craft, DIY and project ideas. You might see something you like and use it for inspiration.

For example you might remember my Stenciled Galvanized bucket DIY – well this was my inspiration photo.

Here is a cute wreath… that inspired my Wreath making…

And Voila, there you have Pinterest in a nut shell! Happy Pinning 🙂
