Hanging a Hammock Swing Chair!

Forever ago I ordered two hammock swing chairs from Wayfair, and this week we finally got one of them hung! It was one of those things I didn’t know how to do, so I just put it off for far too long. What knot do we tie, what do we need for hardware…Now I realize that it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought. But isn’t that the way these things seem to go?

For the hardware we purchased a heavy duty carabiner, and a large eyelet screw. I used rope to tie the chair to the carabiner (don’t ask me what knot I used in the end. I did a lot of googling!) Matt predrilled into the ceiling, and hit a joist so that it is really anchored solidly into the wood!

I took some time to go through all of the books and clean up the shelf.(details about the book rack here) Next up we will work our way through all of Fin’s toys, which are currently stowed in the closet. Now that her room has a swing chair it’s the new hot spot in the house! She’s even slept in it a few nights. And of course- just when I decided to take down the chalkboard, the kids are now drawing on it daily.

I picked up this new bedding on clearance during my Homesense trip- you can’t go wrong with soft pink velvet and colorful llamas! I’d also like to find some inexpensive drapes as these pink ones don’t go down to the floor which is looking off to me.

I’ll be sharing another video update on this room this weekend. Plus the knobs arrived for the dresser- so I am hoping to get that completed asap. Hope you have a great weekend!
