” And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them. ” Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David, a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

-Luke 2: 6-14

The beginning of the greatest story ever told… that one day this babe would grow to be a man, who would commit the greatest act of Love- who would lay down his life. A gift for you, for me, and for all people. While I was but a lowly sinner, in all my faults, and insecurities, my selfishness and brokenness- Jesus was and is Immanuel, God with us. He makes all things new. He sees the broken vessel and makes it whole again.

All we need to do is simply ask him to be with us, to receive the gift he has freely given. A love so great, it is there for us yesterday, today and tomorrow. A love that has the power to transform lives.
