Hi Guys! We have been enjoying some really lovely weather, and it has me wanting to spend my days out in the garden. Earlier in the summer I built some cedar window boxes for a few of our larger windows- and I am happy to say there is a full tutorial for you over at Remodelaholic. You can check it out here. They are really affordable and go well with any style of home.
I am so, super thrilled to be joining their amazing team of contributing bloggers. It’s such a fun way to connect with other awesome DIY people. If you aren’t familiar with their site, they offer a ton of tutorials, design ideas and generally neat stuff- so be sure to check them out.
I ran outside this morning and grabbed a few updated photos, just so you could see how much they have filled in…
Ahhh. I love window boxes. We added them to our last house as well- and they just make things feel so cheerful. I look forward to switching up my color choices each summer- and plan to fill them with greenery for winter. If we had a longer “fall” I would probably switch out the flowers then too- but we kind of go from summer to frost- so it isn’t really worth spending money on flowers that won’t survive for too long- unless I can bring them in at night.
I built 2 for the front of the house as well- but only have one up since I still needed to finish painting the other portion of the front.
I’m so happy with this simple little addition of cedar window boxes to our home. Hope you are having a lovely Wednesday!
