Matt and I recently took a trip to the store to pick up some walnut stain and some paint for a table I was working on. The table is complete, but I am yet to get some good shots for it, but I love it! I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
In the mean time, I wanted to introduce you to Maria. Maria is in fact a paint color from CIL- and she is a beauty! My workshop (aka basement) is in complete upheaval, strewn with projects every where. This is such a great color, and adds a great “pop” in any room. Don’t worry, while Maria has made her way onto many surfaces, they aren’t all for our home.
First up is a little piece from my in-laws basement that I found… yes it’s true. I even look through other peoples junk. No, it’s not junk, but it was hiding in their storage room. It works out well, because my MIL needed something to hang out by the hot tub for towels, so hopefully this does the trick! Kind of too cute, and I will admit, I think I might be making something similar for my house…
I covered the whole thing in a walnut stain, let it dry (mostly) and then painted 2 coats of Maria, and distressed it with a hand sanding block. I then added a few numbers with my trusty stencils from the dollar store! Take a peak at the before and after:
And here are a few more shots, because who doesn’t love turquoise things on beadboard?
Things are busy at our place these days… we are working on a move (hopefully) so that comes with a lot of decluttering, and discussing! Not to mention dance starts up for me next week (ahhhhh) which I am really looking forward to, but must get myself organized. I am so ready to just dance! And paint, and laugh and sing! I am really enjoying refurbishing these days and am excited about some pieces I will be doing for some friends/family. I also have some beautiful thrifted pieces I found yesterday which I am dreaming about… but must stop bringing things in when I am trying to send them out!!
Hope you all had a great week, can’t believe tomorrow is Friday! GAH!
