This post brought to you by motherhood, sleeplessness, reading too many confessions of a shopaholic books, no more chocolate in the house, and the most stubborn teeth on planet earth.
You know what I forgot about? That the stage before a baby can really talk is frustrating for them and ummm… patience producing for the mother. Wanting to nurse has gone from “baby” to “nigh nigh” and “nigh nigh” has gone to screaming “nooo” and I am pretty sure the last 2 days “mama” has become “dada.” I can’t keep up with this girl. She won’t nap. She is sleeping like a bat at night. I think we are both confused…my baby is teething and it has turned her world upside down! She has always been quite content, albeit a bit of a mama’s girl. However, teething for the last month or so has made her a very unhappy camper. It might be stereotypical, but she screams at me more then the boys ever did. Those teeth can pop through yesterday, thank you very much!
School, teething and all of the other things I have been doing- has left me with a few projects in the lurch. I painted a dresser for fins room, and then decided I wanted to add some hand painted details. I have gotten as far as drawing the design on with chalk. It’s a good thing though, because after looking at it for a few weeks, I think I want to scale it back to something a little more simple.
I also hit a hitch with another piece I am painting in a creamy white… the old stain is coming through in some areas and has created big pink blotches. I am glad I caught it before everything was covered with 2 coats- but it’s a bit of a bummer when using chalk paint because that stuff ain’t cheap. I am going to experiment with blocking the stain- I’ll let you know how that goes!
I feel like nothing that I have started in the last while is finished. I get so much gusto to tackle things, and then stuff comes up and I have to keep up with the daily needs of the house, kiddies and homeschooling. It doesn’t bode well for my project ADD. I must say that so far school is going really well. We have found a rhythm thus far, and I am really thankful. My boys have been playing really well together lately as well, which if you are a parent- you will know it can be like a mini-victory when your kids play with little conflict. It makes things so much easier on me- and them.
Mind you there is the daily baseball kerfuffle between the boys- my 7 year old is OBSESSED with the Blue Jays. I don’t say that lightly. He wants to play baseball every minute of the day- and is highly invested in their wins and losses. He gives me constant updates of the players, and refers to the team as “we” ie. “we hit a homer” or “we lost 14-2” Anyhoo- my 5 year old likes it too, but he doesn’t really want to throw pitches, or play on a one man team in the front yard more then 10 minutes a day- since he has to get a home run to advance. I can’t really blame him, but E is miffed.
I’ve been reading a lot of books lately. Somehow this is turning into a life update… oh well. I missed reading, so I joined a book club, and now I can’t stop. I have been averaging 2 books a week?! Whats going on. I don’t know, but I deleted facebook and instagram off my phone and now I read books again. It’s amazing. We are totally regulars at the library now.
OK, thats me in a nutshell this evening. How about you? Any special projects or parenting victories? I am counting down the months til potty training is happening- because lets face it, toddler poos are sick. We also got our yard packed up for winter- even though our weather has been amazing! Praises.

PS- I turn 30 next month and my kids said that sounds really old. I just can’t agree with them.
