This Cabinet Skirt couldn’t have been simpler! I bought a long drop cloth from the hardware store, then measured and cut it with sharp scissors. I folded the top over to get the appropriate length, and created “pleats” using my curtain rings… no sewing involved!
It hides away the clutter, and is really easy to open and close. Plus if we ever end up with spills, I can just take the fabric off and throw it in the wash.
I can not believe how different this kitchen is feeling with just a few simple changes. There were some not so fun but necessary house things we’ve had to tackle at the farmhouse, like replacing all of the eaves and downspouts before the winter rains, and buying a new dryer. Which lets be honest, are both great things to have new! But, they’re not exactly pretty things to share on the blog, and means we are working in a limited house budget for the time being.
I love projects like this that are all about using what we have, making things better quickly, without too much disruption. I also love little things like ruffles, which I find absolutely charming.
Next up I would like to build a bench in our dining area. We made some changes in there, and I recently finished giving it a fresh coat of white paint! So I think it deserves a post if it’s own. If you’d like to follow along between posts, I often share what I am up to in my Instagram stories over @thismamasdance
Thanks for stopping by the blog, and visiting me in our kitchen!
