I started on this little dresser a few months ago, and it took me as long to decide what type of details I wanted to add to the drawer fronts. I was of course inspired by Miss Mustard Seed, and had originally planned to add swirly leaf petals. However after drawing out the design in chalk, it just didn’t quite seem to fit, so I started at the top drawer and went from there. We’ve had this dresser since we got married, it is sturdy and the drawers are nice and deep. I felt like it was time to give it a new story for our little girls room.
I love those little castor feet. The painted details are really subtle, and it fits perfectly in our little girl’s room. I would love to change out all of the knobs to glass ones eventually, but for now it is sweet as is. I grabbed the 2 top knobs from Canadian Tire of all places!
The color is Pistachio Delight, from the Country Chic Chalkpaint Line. The flower details are painted in Vanilla Frosting, from the same line.
The paint went on really smooth, and I was able to have great coverage with 2 coats. Over time the paint began to wear in areas and the original finish came through. I just wiped the dresser with a wet rag and let it dry before painting it. I lightly sanded different areas with a sanding sponge.
One of my closest friends made this little hoop for Fin on her first birthday. I love it. The quilt came from my mama’s stash. The little black leather shoes were my mom’s when she was a baby.
Hope you are enjoying some sunshine today! We sure are.
