Good morning guys! We now have a white farmhouse table! I had thought about painting our table for the last little while, just to refresh it a bit. We spend a lot of time around this table, 3 meals a day and a few hours every morning working on school. The top had really taken a beating, so I whipped out my paintbrush and did a mad paint sesh.
I recently ordered two slipcovers to break up the wood chairs. I have been toying with the idea of painting the chairs, but I think I am going to paint the walls first, and see how I feel about everything.
I love the sweet little ties on the back.
I distressed the top, and also created a bit of a planked top look by using a butterknife and a ruler. I am very fancy sometimes. We also moved the light, so I could place the dining table into the nook by the window. It opened up a lot of space in the room. One day we will plank the ceiling and insert potlights, but today is not that day! I also need to deal with that droopy rod and such….. are you noticing a pattern?
We haven’t done much to this area of the house, but we sure do spend a lot of time here. So I am trying to be a bit more intentional with cleaning it up, creating some storage and lightening it up.
It felt so good to paint again, and I really enjoyed the process. Even if it was bit bonkers as our sweet boy napped on and off. We have had sickness in our house for almost 2 weeks straight- everything from runny noses, fevers, coughs and throwing up. I am looking forward to sleeping at night again… Hopefully sooner than later.
