I mentioned earlier this week that I’ve been working on finally trimming out our built in book case in the living room! It’s been a long time coming- and while I still need to add the toe kick/baseboard (or whatever we are calling it) It just feels 100 times more finished and beautiful!
I added a face frame onto the shelves, filled holes, primed and painted! I just love how much more substantial they feel. I’ll share a full “reveal” post of them all styled up- but I thought it would be fun to share the progress… You guys! We are getting stuff done!!
Part of me kind of loves them all empty and blank… I think I’m craving more and more minimalism these days. Less to tidy, less to take care of. More space to just be.
The left side of the room has been the biggest transformation, as I never got around to even priming the pine shelves or box interior on this side! It feels so clean and crisp. Why is it that the last 15% of a project is always the hardest to complete- even though it’s very nearly the most impactful?! These book cases finally look like built in book cases… we are almost there!
I’d like to get the toe kick finished up, and we’ve also got plans to get some exterior work completed this weekend. Hopefully we will make some progress on the window caulking and paint!
Hope you’ve had a lovely week so far,
-Miss Ash
