It’s true. I do. I have project ADD. I want to weed my garden, finish my closet and build a deck. I want to paint trim, work on the mud room and sew a dolly dress. I want to hang a barn door, paint some lockers and build a shutter cabinet. 😀 Sound familiar?
Well, if not… then just ignore this post. But, if yes then… Hi.
It’s kind of hard being plagued by “I can make that” syndrome. Because, we can… probably. But sometimes it’s just better to buy the pre-made Angel food Cake. Whip some cream, cut up strawberries and call it a day! But, I can’t always do that… and even though I have all those things to do that I listed up there, today I am going to talk about my plan to build a cabinet… with shutter doors.
You see, I have some shutters, and we have a plan to build a cabinet beside our bathroom vanity.
It’s going to go where that laundry basket is… it will be tall. It will hold extra towels, tp, linens and such as. {famous family tag line… thanks to the Miss America Beauty Pageant} And perhaps some dirty laundry. So, of course, I have to scour Ana-White and Pinterest for Inspiration. This is what my search turned up…
I love the chippy paint on one side of the doors and the raw wood patina on the other. I also like how the frame is painted solid white so that doors really sing!
couldn’t find the original source for this, please share if you know it!
I love the finish on this cabinet from Chip and Joanna Gaines home. The color, the wood, the chippy-nes.
You can actually buy this on Etsy. Or this one from Restoration Hardware
That’s not in the card$ for me though… so I am going to get creative with some plywood and old shutters! Isn’t it funny when you think you have an original idea… but then you do a Pinterest search and realize it’s already been done. Thats ok though… it just proves to me that my crazy ideas might actually work, and I then I get really excited. Oh where oh where do I start first?!!
Please tell me I’m not the only one with project ADD these days?

P.S.- I re-arranged my kitchen {appliances} a few months ago and I still haven’t taken photos. Speaking of project ADD. Oops!
