My mamma recently came up for a visit, which was lovely and unexpected. You know, I really love my mom! It was hard to say goodbye and I found myself being the one to have tears running down my cheeks as she drove away (after I just told her not to cry!) Matt hugged me and said “She’s your mamma, isn’t she?” I realized how amazing it is to be able to spend time with my mom, and although this trip was brief, it really felt like a rich time. My heart was so touched by E- who slept with his Gramma every night and even some naps! He is still talking about their visit non stop. They spent hours playing in the sandbox with a box of freebie toys from one of the garage sales… We went for ice cream one evening, and my mom said “What kind of ice cream do you want?” to which he responded “Bubblegum! My favorite.” Which also happens to be my mom’s favorite (that and cotton candy) love <3
We only went to 2 garage sales, and I am going to warn you- we found a lot of treasures! I can’t even post everything we found, because some went home with my mom, but I have taken pictures of most things! So, I hope you enjoy, and feel excited to hit up some garage sales this summer!! You never know what you might find.
Everything here was priced at $5 or less- and we ended up paying less for everything- the good ol “Will you take ____ for the bunch?”

Thanks Kris! i will keep my eyes out- for your new place in ALBERTA! Maybe we can even go garage saling together one day 😉
i love that chair! what a find! i could seriously garage sail and thrift all day long and never get sick of it. there’s this house in oak park thats an old victorian that is filled to the brim every few weeks with new recycled stuff…i have dreams about finding treasures there. if you guys come here again, we’ll have to go!
Ash, That’s so sweet! We did have a great time! I knew we got some amazing bargains but I didn’t realize how cute EVERYTHING was! I’ve been doing little makeovers with my treasures too. I have so much to do but can’t stop rearranging things. It’s amazing how a few vintage dollar items can breathe new life into your house. In fact I was just thinking that I really need to do this for a living because I enjoy it so much! I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as they say….
Love you! Mumsy
