This year I decided to switch things up for our Christmas Tree Decor… going for a bit more of a calm/classic/earthy look in red, cream and blues… 😉 I’m excited to share our tree with you on Wednesday, but until then, I wanted to share a few of the ornaments I added to our collection! The first is a set of wooden ornaments, the second set ties into our musical theme, and the third are decorative burlap and linen balls. As with post one and two, I’m linking this up to the Holiday Home Link Party.
Words of Hope Ornament Set
To Create these yourself you will need:
- logs
- a saw (we used a mitre saw)
- drill (for drilling holes)
- Stamps/ink
- Yarn or ornament hooks
1) Cut your logs to desired thickness. You can see that I pulled mine out of our snowy wood pile! 2) Cut your logs (thank you amazing hubby for braving the cold, and rockin the power tools!) 3) Sand any rough edges 4)Drill a hole large enough to fit your hooks, or thread your yarn. 5) Select your stamps. We made a few with a birdhouses etc. that we will use as unique (and free) gift tags! 6) Stamp away!
Musical Note Ornament
To Create these yourself you will need:
- Glass Balls (I got these for free at a Christmas Decor Exchange!)
- Mod Podge
- Sheet Music
1) Brush on Mod Podge 2) Apply paper 3) Apply Mod Podge on top… and add more paper! 4) Coat last layer in Mod Podge, either Matte or Glossy.
Linen and Burlap Ornament Set
To Create these yourself you will need:
- Foam Balls (I used 2 sizes)
- Linen &/or Burlap
- Straight Pins
- Yarn or Ornament Hooks
1) Select Fabric to accent your color scheme 2) Cut into strips, mine varied between .5-1 inch. 3)Wrap and pint at the top. 4) add hooks or yarn at pins.
Wow! You are a Christmas crafting genius! So glad I found your project via Centsational Girl.
