Beautiful Chairs

I don’t know if you are anything like me, but I have a bit of a habit of seeing things for their potential, vs. what they actually are. It sounds like a relatively positive quality, but sometimes it isn’t. Haha. I was on kijiji recently (I just like to randomly check it out) and I came across 2 beautiful  chairs for FREE. Now, how beautiful can “free” chairs really be? Well… these ones have great lines, and lots of “potential.” So, my plan is to reupholster them, but in the mean time, at the very least I’ll make some slip covers. If you have done much upholstery, you know that it isn’t as easy as it sounds. I learned this with my plans of refinishing chairs. The easiest part is picking out the fabric 😉 These chairs are super solid and comfortable, but really dirty… like stored in an old farm garage dirty.

I have done a chair before and some slip covers… but I wasn’t very proud of the finishing of my chair, and what I learned was that I really didn’t have the right tools. But now, I do! Or at least a few more of the right tools. Have I mentioned I love tools? So, my hope is that this time, it will be different!

Here are some chairs from Miss Mustard Seed that I adore. I love the French grain sack fabrics… I will simply have to ban my children from coming anywhere near them! HA! Prepare for beautiful chair overload!

See what I mean… so inviting. If you don’t frequent Miss Mustard Seed’s blog… you should! It is my favorite blog, and so full of inspiration and beauty! She also has some different upholstery tutorials in case you are like me, and are hoarding “project” furniture 😉

Driving away with my free chairs I felt giddy as a school girl… and my wonderful husband found me some $25 lockers that I have big plans for. I love re-purposing! Areba!
