Our little family has been moving right into winter these days. I find there are always seasonal rhythms as we find a new routine. Last week Matt was travelling for his current film project, so the kids and I were hanging out at home. We are finally into a good school routine- which took longer than usual due to the kitchen renovation! It was nice to make meals at home, and spend time together. I made this gluten free recipe as muffins, and they turned out great- just bake for about 22 minutes!
Renovations are generally taxing- the house is chaotic, we’re working hard, spending money, and making a million and one decisions! We took a bit of a break from house stuff the last few weeks, and tried to just get our lives in order a bit. It felt good you guys!
We had a Christmas market last weekend- Matt and his buddy Ryan sold some of their coffee there. Matt flew in late Thursday night- and we spent Friday getting ready for the early Saturday set up. I think I’ve mentioned this before- but Matt and Ryan started roasting last winter and their beans are a hit here in our neck of the woods. I may never be able to go back to other coffee 😉 ( you can find out more about their coffee here if you are curious) Seeing all of the cute displays at the market got me feeling excited for Christmas decorating…
We have had such beautiful weather, that although it’s been sprinkled with snow here and there, I haven’t really felt like decking the halls just yet! To be honest, I have been pretty tired!! Taking care of 4 littles- and having the flu go through our house last week, then with Theo teething- it hasn’t left me with the desire to do much other than day to day house and fam maintenance. I have missed sharing here on the blog though, and I am feeling my creative juices starting to flow.
Have you been decorating for Christmas yet? Are you in “holiday mode” ?
I hope you are enjoying this time of year, and the wonder that comes with it. I am making a conscious choice to choose joy, and slow down. I sense my body and spirit craving rest- and my littles are cherishing time with their parents and each other as they can get it.

what i do is I take one Christmas items out at a time, place it somewhere and enjoy it, making no promises to be other items in the closet that they will be becoming out this year…😊
