I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! This season is such a unique, full, interesting time of year. We enjoyed some time with our families- and are looking forward to some quiet days at home to recharge. Well, I may be the only introvert who needs to recharge- and my littles need to rest after coming down with a cold after all the excitement of the days past.
Matt and I were able to enjoy a quiet coffee Christmas morning- thanks to a few new toys for our boys and a baby that slept in. {best Christmas present ever!} This time of year is so much fun, and my boys are just as nostalgic as I am. As time goes on though, I find myself stopping to taking in the excited faces, the sleepy cuddles, the giggles and games. We were able to see my entire side of the family this year {over 20 of us!} which was such a gift. Matt’s side of the family was a little quieter than normal, but we had some great family time together.
I just wanted to pop in to say hi. It is with a thankful heart that I wonder at the gift of Hope, wrapped in swaddling clothes… a small child that would grow up to change the course of our lives forever. To bring reconciliation to God, and the hope of an eternity spent with Him. Christmas time brings with it so many feelings, expectations and longing. I find myself needing to simply be in the moments as they are now, yet also mourning those that we can’t be with, or feel separation from.
I hope you find some time to reflect on the year behind us, and the beauty that lies ahead.
blessings to you.
