In last weeks weekly recap video, I chatted about some of the art I found for the Kids Gallery Wall which I started working on in our daughters room! She loves color and being creative, not to mention unicorns and horses- so these really caught my eye! As an added bonus they were on clearance for under $20 a piece. What an amazing price for framed art!
I plan on adding to this kids gallery wall over time, and am envisioning filling the entire wall with collected pieces, handmade items (like the woven wall hanging) and art by my girl. The little cubby shelf is a DIY project she and I are working on. She’s loved choosing colors and painting it out. I might do a “How to” post about it down the road.
While it’s not directly a part of the kids gallery wall, I wanted to share a little bit more about this print from the dresser reveal post! It came with a book set from the Julia Rothman collection. Isn’t it darling? I grabbed a clipboard from the dollar store and painted it out in Lichen, from the fusion mineral paint line. It’s such an inexpensive way to “frame” photos, art and printables when you don’t have a budget for an actual frame. To hang it just pop a small nail in the wall and hang it from the metal loop.
I Painted the Door
I did it guys. I painted the door. It was just so red and woody. You might recall I have been on the fence about painting our original wood doors for a long time. I wanted to maybe try stripping them- but it is a long, messy process- and while I have done it before, I just don’t have the time or the space to tackle it.
It was 100% the right choice! The doors feel fresh and rejuvenated already- and these are just primed! I can’t wait to show you the color I chose! In the words of my 9 year old “it feels so fun!”
Speaking of color, I think I’ve made up my mind for what I am going to do on the wall that currently has the chalkboard… and it involves paint!
The room is coming together! Bit by bit. Just as it should. Hope you have a lovely weekend friends.
