My Life. In a Nut Shell.

Let’s catch up shall we? After who knows how long, my once a day blogging habit has dwindled… and ceased? To say the least. So, I shall get over that hump and leave the past behind us.

There are exciting things happening lately, deep and not so deep thoughts, and much painting (of course) I have decided a bullet point list is the best route to go:

  • Restoring old windows, stripping, replacing glass, glazing… this is what my brain has been up to lately. Research. I need to get our storms ready before the really cold weather hits (the exterior windows for those who are not familiar with 1940’s window practices…) Yes. Right now, my storms look like something you would pick up at habitat and turn into a cheap decoration. I am aiming for restored beauty.
  • Storm clips. I have found a company in Edmonton. 0.63 a clip at this point… I need 4 per window, and have 17 windows. Anyone have experience with this… is that a decent price? I’d like for them to be like 0.23 each 😉
  • House plans, more house plans… and plans. Yes! Our addition is less than a week away from development permit application level. Yay!! And then comes demo of the back deck (which means individually removing each board to re use it… obviously) Right now we are getting quotes, and figuring out how “DIY” our addition will be… or not be.
  • Septic fields, septic tanks, mounds… and grey water.
  • E is continuing his home education. I am excited about some Pre-K curriculum material I bought- for Math, reading and LA. Woohoo. My baby is growing up, and occasionally smarter than me when it comes to random facts about animals.
  • I will admit it. I am the mom that sort of put off potty training. Granted, G is only 29 months… but E was night time trained by 28. So, it was a tough act to follow. It really had to do with our exciting and insane road trip… 17 hours there and back, I really wanted to avoid taking a stop every 30 minutes. So, Potty Train is up on the docket for mister G. We have been home a week. My goal is to get this done before I start back to teaching… send me your prayers!
  • Teaching! Yes, back to ballet and contemporary! I am looking forward to connecting with old students, and meeting new ones. Sad to say many girls moved on last year, and I will miss them so! But, I am excited to hear about their adventures this year 🙂
  • She Has a Name is coming to Red Deer to close out it’s cross Canada tour in October! I can’t believe it is just 1 month away. But, it’s true. What an amazing, faith building challenge this tour has been… can’t believe it! You can visit the She Has a Name website to catch it at remaining cities from now until its close- or purchase tix for the Red Deer Show!
  • Blogging. I have so many projects, events… pictures… that I want to share with ya’ll! I mean, we are really overdue for an update from me “before” house tour… so, I am praying for some consistency with our internet (I’m talking to you BELL) so that I can upload pix and get some blogs rolled out.
  • Wow, it feels great to be sitting here at my backdoor, writing a blog!

That’s my life in a nutshell.
