Mixed Color Garden Style Wedding Flowers
I thought today would be a perfect day to share some beautiful summer flowers, because no word of a lie it was -38 yesterday morning with a windchill of -50!! It’s the coldest I remember it being pretty much ever… While I am not complaining because this has also been the mildest winter I remember in a long time, I can’t believe it can get so cold! Here we are with our first bitterly cold snap and it’s February already. Almost to spring…. almost.
The fun thing about this bride is that she wanted a mixed color bouquet- with burgundy and jewel tones. She was really relaxed, and that is my favorite kind of bride to work with! We grew 99% of all of these flowers, which was a great feeling as we often had to supplement throughout the season.
I loved incorporating the sweet pea vines. I struggled to get super long stems on my sweet peas last season, and honestly I wish I would have thought to use more of the vine sooner, because it is such a soft, whimsical look. Taking note for this season. The fluffy white cosmos and giant zinnias are right up there with some of my favorite flowers ever…
Over the weekend I was at a wedding show with Meadow, and was it ever inspiring and fun to see all of the different vendors and their pretty set ups! I am so looking forward to working with more brides this summer.
