Raise your hand if your fridge is adorned with photos, kid art, and shopping lists; keep it up if the magnets that hold said items are a variety of random business magnets and alphabet letters… ok. so its just me then. I actually went on a major purge when it comes to our fridge… we did used to have a TON of photos from friends and family, but those had to migrate to the inside of our kitchen cabinets, because G would not keep his hands off.
So, Sunday I thought to myself… the fridge should be cute and personalized too! I was tired of my mis-match ugly magnets… so this little magnet set was born.
I thought it could also make a cute “little” gift… paired along with something. It would also be a good set to use on a magnet board in the kitchen for holding recipe cards etc. or by your make up table for inspirational quotes and family photos.
The set consists of 3 parts. The first is a paper frame that I mod-podged onto a magnetic backing. I added some ink along the edges and a simple “hello” stamp. The button and raffia finish it off!
The “Peanuts & Pop Corn” Magnet is a cream piece of paper with a transfer image that I had from some scrap booking supplies.
And the last piece is a felt flower bunch made by yours truly.
This was a fun and quick project! If you’d like to make your own you will need:
- Magnet strips OR you can re-use freebie “biz” magnets
- Fun paper
- Ink pad/stamp
- Felt
- Transfer image (or you could stamp/stencil something)
- buttons, ribbon, raffia, jewels for embellishment
- Mod Podge & Hot Glue
CUTE! I am so going to make the frame one and some flowers! Love this idea!
Thanks Jami!
