Ok. Albeit it is Halloween… but lately things have felt pleasantly delightful, and I feel a bit like a kid on Christmas morning. It’s true, and here are just a few of the reasons why.
I spent the afternoon perusing through paint chips, which I brought home, snipped up, and organized in various color schemes. But, not for myself! No, something far better… a dear friend asked me to help her makeover her office space, which currently comes complete with a ducky border. I was so honored, and {excited} to be a part of this! As a mama, I know that a space for “you” is often the last thing we think about, even though we are kind of in charge of the whole house. 😉 I am looking forward to helping this beautiful mama create a space where she can relax and rejuvenate – with plenty of room to craft and create, while offering fabulous organizational features for taking care of the business of running a household! Exclamation much? Did I mention I am excited?!!
I also received my Pampered Chef order, which has a few things I have been wanting for a while. I am pretty excited about my new garlic press and glass mixing bowl. Something about it reminds me of days gone by, and I feel happy just looking at it sitting on my beautiful oak counter top. yay. Time to start baking and cooking, and eating delicious food. FYI- no peeling of the garlic clove necessary.
It’s interesting how invigorating simple things can be… little joys like paint chips and mixing bowls, laughter and coffee with a friend. Singing songs with my boys or hugging my husband. These things restore my soul, they remind me of the beauty of life, and the gift of dreams. It really is a gift to be able to dream. I know I have so many dreams swirling around in my head.
Some of which will be put to rest with a few paint sample jars I picked up today. I have 3 “oops” containers that were $1, as well as 2 fp samples “Cornbread” by Martha Stewart Living, and “Marina Isle” by Behr. I will admit that it is kind of nice that MSL has 12 shades already tinted and ready to go- if those are the colors you are looking for, because getting a sample of the Behr (while it was lovely that I could choose from 1000’s of colors) was a little too time consuming with 2 tired/hungry little ones… probably because we had to wait through a shift change. Oh well! I have my paint. I would describe the 3 “oops” as barn red, knock off cornbread, and storm cloud… kind of a greyish white?
I have a fun upcycle pillow DIY coming up tomorrow. IT is like a SUPER up-cycle… because not only is the cover up-cycled but so is the insert 😉 Like uber time…
Hope you all had a great start to your week and that you were free to be.
