This post is part of a series about this blush dresser makeover. Read Part 1 & Part 2 to see where it started.
The Custom Blush Dresser Makeover is complete! Sometimes I feel silly when these things take so long to finish, but projects happen bit by bit around here, and I am happy to say this Custom Blush Dresser Makeover is finished! It turned out just perfectly. It feels fresh, yet still has a story to tell.
The first time I painted this dresser I distressed the edges and drawer fronts. This time I decided to keep the color solid, with no distressing. I am really preferring a solid paint finish these days. If you want to learn more about antiquing painted pieces check out this post, and for all the details on painting furniture I’ve got that covered here.
As a reminder here is how the dresser looked way back when, after many years of love and use.
Then I painted it out in a color called Pistachio Mint with a hand painted floral detail. At the time I just switched out the top two pulls for glass knobs and kept the rest of the original hardware…
Now after a few weeks of waiting on the knobs, we now have a soft, custom blush dresser. The wood knobs came from Home Depot- and are Liberty Hardware 1/2″ birch wood knobs. They come in a 10 pack. I shared how they look in their natural state in this post.
It never ceases to amaze me what can be accomplished with a few simple changes! I spent $4.75 on this blush dresser makeover- which was for the wood knobs. I had the paint leftover from the scallop wall project- which was initially a $4 sample size. So- it really doesn’t have to take much to bring your own personality into a room!
I hope you are enjoying these updates- I’ve got more progress on this room makeover coming up!
