As a mom it can be so hard to carve out time for myself. My idea of fun might seem like work to some, but I really enjoy getting to work on a project of some sort. Whether that means planting seeds, painting furniture, building or making something… it is my idea of down time. To just putter and feel my creative juices flowing brings me such joy!
How about you? What is your idea of a perfect afternoon? Don’t get me wrong… a massage sounds pretty good too! haha. I have been trying to carve out little bits of me time over the last few weeks- either after the kids are in bed, between naps and moments when the baby is content. Or as I am right now-with a baby balanced on my lap as I write this post and listen to All Sons and Daughters while basking in a sun beam.
If you follow me on instagram you might have caught me tackling a dresser makeover. I saved the whole process in my stories… I’m also putting together a blog post because I think so often we can be intimidated by painting furniture.
You might remember that we moved this dresser into our room to use as a change table and to store Theodore’s things. It was feeling a little tired though, so I felt it would be nice to freshen it up with a neutral grey.
I haven’t gotten around to photographing it all fininished up (post to come!) but here is a look after one coat of fusion mineral paint:
I love the color and can’t wait to share the finished product!
Because I am just feeling a little all over the place today, I also wanted to share a little update on some of our seed babies…
Aren’t they looking so great? These are some zinnias we started up for a June wedding. Can’t wait to see their beautiful blooms. The snow and cold may continue to sit out doors, but our little flower farm is in full swing! We have started nearly 2,000 plants so far. Kind of hard to believe! We had a late night of seeding last night, but it felt very productive.
I am so thankful to be sharing all of these little moments with you. Thanks for listening!

Wow! You continue to amaze me with all that you get done. Just got a chance to look at the fabulous video you gals made of seed starting. This is going to be a fun thing to watch develop. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Blessings on Meadow Dreams…………………
