Sometimes I like to play with different decorating ideas. You know, it might look like re-arranging the furniture, rotating art- or in my case, dressing my fireplace mantel with pretty flowers! Earlier this week I shared our Christmas Mantel- but first I tried something else. I absolutely love this look… it’s a little bit vintage, glam and rustic all rolled into one. As I like to call it, it’s my rustic glam Christmas mantel!
It wasn’t our permanent Christmas mantel, and definitely is more non-traditional with all of that pink, but there is something so soft and feminine- especially when paired with that guilded french chair. I just love it! My husband on the other hand… well, he thought it was nice- and again used that same term “wild” as when I showed him my wreath. ha!
If I could find a pile of blush peonies I would just go crazy…. oh my goodness, I hope and pray all of the peony bushes I planted last spring will bloom this year… even just one. These blooms are faux- but honestly you would never know. I simply removed the stems and nestled them within the greenery.
This mantel taught me a few things. One: Greenery makes the best base- from there you can build it into any look you want just by dressing it up. Two: I absolutely heart flowers. Three: I love a little vintage glam. mm hmm. Yes I do!

I think your rustic glam is gorgeous! It reminds me of a Christmas many, many years ago. I dried roses and tucked them along with baby’s breath into the tree branches, into the fresh garland on the mantel, and in the fireplace basket greenery. It was divine, but I was a single Mom by then and didn’t need to please a hubby anymore. Thank-you for showing the rustic glam mantel- love it! Good luck with your peonies, mine fell victim to caterpillars this year.
That sounds absolutely gorgeous Ellen. Thank you for sharing… Oh my that is sad about your peonies- I haven’t had the best of luck. They were finally established in our last house and starting to bloom the last summer before we moved. It has been an uphill climb since moving to our new home- trying to find a good spot where they will thrive.
