Buyers Remorse

Do you ever come to the realization that you can’t afford the thing you really like… so you decide that you need to go ahead and bite the bullet? And you buy the thing that is practical and locally available, and affordable ….but you don’t love. Which doesn’t matter, because, it is functional.

Enter. Our couches.

I like them. I do. They are lakey and good for life by the beach. Life by the beach with kids… and they’re comfortable, and the right size.

The thing is… about 3 months after we bought our couches, I saw these couches by IKEA… really similar to a style I love but can’t ever afford from Pottery Barn. I saw it in Country Living, and my eyes bulged when I saw it was IKEA!I had buyers remorse. I really couldn’t have known IKEA was going to come out with these couches. But I lurv them.

They also come in grey… and all sorts of different colors. Matt tried to tell me they would be really uncomfortable. And we like our couches {we do} and stop it. So, I decided to forget them for a while…

Guys. IKEA is now having their buy a sofa get one for 50% off deal…. {muffled sobs}

Oh well. One day I will move the blue ones upstairs, and buy one of these! At least that’s what I tell myself. They are so feminine, and lovely. So, if you are looking for a great little sofa… they’re on sale now! Go, make me jelous.

  1. I have to be honest
    I love the blue couch so much better than the ikea one.
    It looks so pretty, a nice pop of color in the room!

  2. I love your blue couch!! My buyer’s remorse is MY blue couch, which I bought from Pottery Barn (hope that makes you feel better!). I think your couch is what I envisioned, but mine (in Harbor Blue – look on their website for the color) isn’t quite the right blue. I thought Harbor Blue would be perfect for my coastal cottage (with a little bit of farmhouse) but it isn’t a strong enough color. AND – it hasn’t held up well. Uncomfortable and faded. Has already been moved upstairs to the game room. Wanna switch?

    1. Sorry to hear that Libby! Especially because sofas are such an investment! I will admit that since bringing in a jute rug and working in some other furniture pieces, our couches have grown on me big time! They are still a closer nod to a more contemporary coastal look- which I do like- but I think in the future I might go towards something more neutral in color with a more classic look.
      Now that you’ve moved your sofa upstairs what are you replacing it with?
