Bam

I don’t know what it is about solo parenting  for the day, and having all 3 of my kids quiet and in bed by 8:30 that makes me feel like some sort of super woman. But let me tell you… it does. I am in my pajama pants and house coat, because let’s be frank, I have every intention of going to bed verrrrry soon. We had gymnastics tonight and E got his first 2 stickers on the chart. I am a sap, but I am proud of that kid. Even if I had to reprimand him for talking back to his coach. He is only 6, but that kid has a way with words- it is my job to help it be an asset, not something that gets him in trouble. :-/ (I don’t know where he gets it from….)

Today was a bit of a crazy, at times heavy day in our house. I find on days like today, morning self must do things to help out afternoon/evening self. Things such as, eat breakfast (oops) not just coffee (not actually food) put laundry in and MOVE IT ALONG, and, utilize that incredible crock pot. That crock pot saved us tonight… after tramp, a post office stop and dropping off library books, I was so happy to come home to a big pot of hot soup. Thank you afternoon self! Not that my husband doesn’t like soup (it may be the last thing on earth he would choose to eat, except that one time we were at BP’s and he wanted to order soup and I talked him out of it, and he was mad at me…) but, it’s not his favourite, so I think I must subconsciously make soup for supper when I know he won’t be home. Or cereal, which is the equivalent of cold soup.

In other news (if you follow me on Twitter) my mom crisis has been averted, and I have now restocked the dry shampoo (greatest thing ever for the between washing of the hair days… which, when you are a mama of a new baby can be more then I’d like to admit) I kind of stick with Dove, and at the drug store I was at it had a whopping price tag of $7.99. You know when you aren’t planning on making it to any other store, and it is probably a good idea to at least make it seem as though you attend to your personal hygiene so you just decide to get it. That’s what I decided… and to my delight it rang up at $5.24. If I wasn’t with 3 hungry children, one of which I was lugging in a bucket seat, I would have gone back and grabbed another. However, I didn’t want to push my mom luck. (I had already taken the boys to the bathroom once, in the whole 8 minutes we were in the store…)

Have I mentioned how much I loathe having to lug a bucket seat around again? Well, I detest it. My arm hurts. And, I am having the re-occurring thought that I must be able to invent some type of better scenario. Maybe we should go back to cardboard boxes, referred to as car beds… but seriously moms of the 70’s… how did the baby not fly around in that thing? I need to do a study on car beds. end tangent. and sentences started with and.

On another random note (which this post is proving to be full of) we bought new couches. Yes. I am in shock too. To be fair, we bought them from a store that was closing out, and needed them gone… so now we have 3 couches in our living room that is still in need of trim. Yes, we still have our old one that is massive, and was just too massive for the space… It will all make sense when I start sharing pictures again.

On the note of pictures, we are hanging doors, and trim, and *famous last words* hoping to get into our room by this weekend. What can I say, my husband is really busy with film work, which is great! But, makes things not so quick in the area of moving into the addition side of things. Good news though- we have found a counter top for the bar of delights*. I shared a photo on instagram and we ended up going with a remnant quartz piece in what I think is Snow White or something… I don’t even know, but I am so excited! It will go perfectly with our marble back splash, and is truly what I have wanted from the start…

How is your week? Do anything super lately? Or something that at least made you feel super?
