An Update

Happy 5th of May! Yes it is cinco de mayo… and 4 days past this little well cooked nugget’s due date. Its funny how going past the proposed “due date” can almost make you feel farther away from having a baby. I am really resisting the feelings of taking a few steps back. This will be the baby that has felt “so low” “so long.” When you think a baby can’t get any lower without coming out… believe me. It can.

I had a good chuckle with one of my dance moms about how sometimes babies just confuse you. You think “this is it” and then everything stops, and tada! You are still pregnant. All I can compare this to is the other times I have been pregnant, and I genuinely felt like this baby was going to make an appearance about a week ago. So, it just goes to show me how true the old adage is of “every baby is different.” As my husby says, cut from the same cloth, but different patterns. The happy news is, I made it to a recital to see all of my girls perform, and they did an amazing job!

I don’t really know what life will look like once this little babe makes it’s appearance. I am really looking forward to spring, flowers, and planting a garden. I just need to be able to bend over first. Moving onto a half acre of relatively un-landscaped land leaves a lot for the churning mind of someone like me. I know I won’t be able to go too crazy in the yard, but I also know that having a baby turns me into a bit more of a hermit {if that is even possible} and I have a new baby monitor ready to go for gardening sessions off the back deck.

House Update: Matt has been working hard on the addition. Sometimes I wonder if it is possible to be more amazed by my husband {I know, sappy right} but it is. He has wrapped up on plumbing and electrical, and we are in wait for the hvac to be run this week. I am sure that will all be a little interesting with a newborn due to make an appearance any day… but, the show must go on! Our insulation is being delivered this week, and we are putting in the order for all of the tongue and groove. Yay!

Studio Update: The Studio aka The Space– now has paint on the walls, and is nearing completion on that job. Next up flooring, more concrete, windows and doors. And LIGHTS! We have all of the cabinets, tile and appliances for the kitchenette ready to be installed as well as bathroom fixtures. And couches! Heath and Shauna, our partners took care of that, and we are forever grateful for their 40 hour trek to IKEA. 😉 Get prepared to be comfortable at The SPACE people!! (we went with the KIVIK)

There are lots of projects on the go! We are really looking forward to wrapping up on the addition and enjoying some days at the lake and time as a family. We also have some exciting film related things in the works, so it will be exciting to update you on that when the time comes.

There you have it, our life in a nutshell… I hope the next time I post an update it will be complete with some photos of our new little bub. I enjoyed reading through the birth stories of our boys… It helped me to remember that I can do this, and I am so glad I have them written down.
